@Jorick:I guess that's the reason that optimizers were invented ! Especially for crunchers like me who've only got 1 slow box..

Boros, you're wellcome! But truthfully, you don't really need an opt. app. with 100K+ just S@H

Hmm, since I started to use opt. Seti@home I started to have a few compute errors once in a while... Is this normal or is it the app thats wrong?

Azurrio, I've yet to have a compute error with S@H, be it before or after installinf an optimised app. Which app are you using?

Azurrio, try keeping your core client up to date - v. 5.10.13 is out now, maybe that might help. How many hosts do you have, I see 3 on BS and 2 on S@H.

I just finished updating my mini farm to 5.10.13. I like the new mods that it contains

Can someone start a thread on BS forums for all the optimized apps out there?

@RiaanStrydom: I think youll find that would be a very short thread as they are only available for seti.

@RiaanStrydom: you should try 64 OS and boinc client if your cpu is compatible. Native 64 bit apps (most) deliver nearly twice the credit of 32 bit. Have a look on Boinc @ Australia's forums under info for new members. Try 64 bit Kubuntu !!

... but take caution! 64bit (K)Ubuntu doesn't support all the apps that are available for the 32bit one (e.g. WLAN)! I also tried it and I had a lot of problems to get applications to run. The 64bit-effect is low. How many projects support 64bit?

@Holladiewaldfee: native 64bit; simap, chess960, ABC, predictor, leiden, seti, superlink. A lot more projects will send 32 bit to 64 bit OS. Check our web-site.
