Either the Medison Celebrity is the Deal of the Century or a scam. RIght now, I choose the later.

re: MedisonCelebrity- I note that the accessories page gives nothing but ad prices. Even with Linux, a laptop at 256 mb RAM is highly undesirable.

@An.Fear yeah the 256mb sux, but with ram so cheap you could get 1Gb for $30 no problem.

We'll all have to wait 4-6 weeks until my Celeb. arrives to pass judgement. OK, 256 Meg sux, but with Linux running instead of windoze, resources are not overloaded. Anyway, all I want the thing for is to add crunching power. I'll add some RAM...

I have to agree - this smells fishy-er than the Fulton Fish Market on a hot August afternoon.

What's the best project for a 400MHz 192MB RAM that is NOT running 24/7?

@pov If its running some form of Windows then you could put Primegrid on it, its Requirements are low.

IMHO, letting this old PC's crunch isnt very effective MHz per Watt or Credits per Watt is too low, uneconomically imo... :/

If Energy Costs aren't a factor at all, crunch along with all you got (ecological issues aside)... But otherwise: old hardware should be sold/dumped and replaced by modern, energy-efficient performers any day. Especially for high Uptimes or 24/7...

30 credits per day running 24/7, deff not worth the power, buy a quad run it for one hour a day and get more credit w. far less power! It will save money in long run.
