On my 2 Macs I am running R@H, E@H and WCG. On my 2 slow PCs I am running XtremLab - the fastest WU they can process.

I am thinking of installing Linux over one of my XPs. Does anyone know if doing that would make any difference as far as crunch time? That is, would it be faster, slower, the same.

How long does this take to work? I don't see my status updated yet or even at all.

How can I get people to join the Boinc idea (to crunch), are their referral credits? If so, links please.

@dulcimoo, look above at the Status right under the PayPal icon. This shows when different updates are done. Not sure what "this takes to work" you are refering to.

@Sapper21A, You wont get anymore credits on Linux then you would over XP, Linux just has the advantage of being free, and I do not believe their are referral credits.

Linux will out preform WinXP because it's less resource intensive.

Thanks all for the tip, I will make the switch!! However, what about the Host credits? Would I loose them? Can I give them to another host?

@Sapper21A, don't worry about Host credits. even though it's the same machine, with a different OS, it's properly a different host. your old host credits will remain.

you want to complain about project length complain about CPDN. Hell I run CPDN, Einstein and a few others that can have more than a 5 day working time.

CPDN though is nice in that you grab a unit and dont have to worry about server outages for ages Beats SETI anyday on that front.

@Web Master - You say my old host credits will remain, but I don't want to start a New Host - I want to keep what I have earned and keep adding to it. Can't I just merge the two together? Or at least pass it on to another host I all ready have?

I have a new work unit from Rosetta but it's only less the half the Mhz available from my CPU.
