@Sapper21A - don't think there will be anyway to merge your old host credits into new host. Credits will stay with your acct. name though.

@Sapper21A Hosts are merely computer ID's. Even if you upgrade a computer, it's technically a *new* computer, since the components changed. If the differences between the two 'hosts' are too great, you won't be able to merge the hosts.

Oh well. Ubuntu it is. Always wanted to try Linux. . free that is. Slowly getting rid of M$. So if my systems crunch, they crunch Mac and Linux!!

Always take a backup of the BOINC directory and move it to the new System. When going to another OS, install the respective Binary over the BOINC Directory and it will continue crunching right away - as if you never changed anything. . .

@anyone: I reset SETI today, just to see what would happen. It's downloaded 1/ 2 the app. but keeps backing off on the rest. Any ideas PLEASE? Boinc's trying to give me a nice 10 hr. WU but it just keeps b. ing off. .

Upload and download is still a problem with SETI. Also beware - if you have BOINC 5. 9. 10 you will have trouble. See SETI boards for more info.

While seti is still so messed up I started working other projects that are not down so long or so often. Heck I made seti a minor project with the least dedicated time now.

wow, 7 YEARS to get 16K credits, now I got 2 macbooks and it's taken just 6 WEEKS to get to 100K! woot!
