Do you think that Berkeley will grant credit for workunits gone over the deadline during outages?

@M. Good idea. I only have 10 hours left befor i run out of SETI WU's.

@pompo: If you goit the result in before it went past it's sell by date, you should get credit. IF it went out of date and was not returned, basically no, they wont give credit. It was late. EOS. Soz.

Seti have had a problem since the beginning of the month with "orphan" files that trake up space & slow things down. They are in the end-process of deleting these. Till they are all gone they seem to have made the decision to "go off line". For more in depth info visit their "tech news"..

My P4 can run 2 seti's but only 1 CPDN. Anyway to add another process?
Guest

I didn't make it clear. Because of hyperthreading on the P4 I am able to run 2 SETI's at one time. Seti is down and I have no WU's to run, so I am running CPDN. Currently I can only get one "unit" from CPDN. My machine is running is now running at 1/2 speed and needs another CPDN "unit".

Gary, I see the same on my P4s. Probably a fn of scheduler logic to be sure you are not over-committed. I always include a 3rd project with SETI and CPDN.

@ JDGriffin: They can see I have 2 CPU's and just about everyone knows I won't "overcommited. I see that I have 2 "sulphur_um . . ", but only one is running because I only have 1 CPDN "unit".

Here we experience the following effect on Xeon2.8 machines: When we allow work on 2 processors and run CPDN, we receive 2 WU and both run. One runs at full speed, the other one at half speed and the PC tnds to stagger, esp. with Word and Outlook. So we allow work on one processor only. This works absolutely fine.

It looks to me that the guys at S@H has slept in the classroom. This is running out of hand. Everybody is by now out of WUs.

@Kiva - no, it's not out of hand, there's lots of work on other projects to do! My machines are running other stuff, and my spot in BOINC overall keeps rising. The SETI guys are fixing the pending credit problem with an extended outage...
