@Mr Finney Please keep in mind that these project are primarily about the science and I assume most people do the work for that reason. The credits are fun but only of secondary importance. don't ask/expect people to sacrafice the first to the latter

@all last posters: As this shoutbox will not stay for long, it's only suboptimal for any discussion. imho a discussion about credit granting is valuable here on a sit devoted for credit counting, so start a thread in the forum please.

@Saenger: Well, thanks for that clarification. Actually, the Rosi-boards are full of this stuff, we shouldn't put it here also. I just felt to say sth. against Finneys argument, but let's forget about it. My CPU-cycles should crunch, not fight! ;-)

Links never work here unedited, as Willy implemented some script to insert some blanks to destroy them. Probably to prevent spamming in the time as no registration was needed to shout

The blanks actually save the shoutbox from stretching wide

@Rytis: Prevent from stretching? This is not correct, take a look down here at bartsob5's message!

A long string would not fit into designated space and would break the layout. Inserting spaces into long strings make them wrap if needed. What should I notice in bartob5's message apart that it inserted a space?

@Rytis: The break in the word discussion, seems not to be because of a space. . . And inserting <br> would be more effective. . . Think it is some formatting reason, because blanks are inserted before dots ONLY!

(As you can clearly see below: The three dots were sent w/o any blanks!

Of course it's not because of a space, it's because it inserts a space in the long words to save the world. . . mm. . . layout. I don't see why <br /> would be more effective - it's more bytes and a forced break, whereas it would not be needed everywhere

Just a Q to those in the know, how possible is it to <i>merge</i> teams across the whole BOINC platform?

Teams cannot be merged on BOINC projects, the Dev's could probally do it but they have other important stuff to do
