Well, it's useful in that the SETI guys want their data crunched. If you're questioning whether or not we will really find aliens, then that's a personal decision. If you question it due to the downtime, I wouldn't worry. They'll catch up eventually

if i wasn't thinking of extraterresiat life, i would never participate in something like seti, but now, i'm participating in so many projects, having only 3 hosts, i've got to decide, which is the most important for me. .

I'm focusing more on Rosetta and LHC than SETI atm. They seem to me like the most useful in a data crunch to results ratio thing. I still have SETI WU to upload though!
