I need experienced users help ?

Have computer running at work (recovered from junked skip) that i have sett up specifically to run BONIC projects only. Its not connected to any internet (In Government Department), so I run every thing related to BOINIC from a usb 4 GB stick pen, simply take it home with me every few days to update the units completed and receive new work units-- simply.

1. Expect no matter how i have amend the preference file via BAM, to inform it how much space is available (currently 1.68gb free space, 145mb used by programs, 42 mb others) programs are still saying, unable to down load need futrhes space, yet on checking there is loads available.

2. After setting 10 days as default for the work units to be download and stored to the pen, only every have accumulated units for 50 hrs, could do with holding max amount for 4 gb stick pen, then i could leave the machine running for a 10-15 days without having to keep remembering to taken home stick pen.

Any help appreciated.

Did you clear your local preferences?
What does BOINC say about "Preferences limit disk usage to _ GB" in the Messages tab after a restart?
Did you check all three entries for reasonable values?

Use no more than X Gb 

Leave at least Y Gb free 

Use no more than Z% of total disk space

Is the Duration Correction Factor at a reasonable value (stable)?
Did you set both options?

Connect to network about every X days  

Maintain enough work for an additional Y days
