Despite the fact that I promised to myself that I won't write anymore in the forum
(the way willy talked to me),
I see that nobody remarked that in 2006.02.27 the cummulated stats
(NOT the individual projects) for BOINC are doubled

my stats for 2006.02.27 are:

SETI: 3360
Einstein: 577
Predictor: 123
Climate: 898

but boinc cummulated: 9831
which is ~ (3360+577+123+898)*2

I saw that ALL random crunchers statistics which I looked at
are the same for that day

I see it. Too bad nobody noticed earlier, now it's to late to fix.

I have a vague idea why this happened. Due to the bad DB performance and the ever increasing table sizes, last monday the incremental update was not finished when the daily update started. This would normaly not be a problem, as they used to work on different tables, but to improve performance a changed some things, and they were working on the same table. I guess that's the source.

I already recheduled the updates to prevent this from happening again.

I clearly see that my boincstats.com stats are different from others by that amount (~5000)

but again, it doesn't bothers me anymore
it's your site, do whatever you think/want to do with it

and when all the statistics sites will be broken,
maybe i'll make my own (not public, I don't want traffic/publicity/whatever)
even now, I have real time stats in my browser's stats bar
(i've modified the mozilla plugin for SETI to show all my projects )
(I hope the owner of it won't read this , and even if he reads, won't sue me )
(anyway, I didn't make it public and I don't intend to do that, to ANYONE,

Maybe I should add that the total ammount of credit that one has, is not affected by this fluke.

To be sure, I did some cross reference with the site of my excellent colleague Toby (NI!) (here) and all totals are nearly the same. The (very small) differences are caused by the supported number of projects and the update times.

of course i'll make stats only for that that people with better stats than me
that's around 500 SAH, 500 CP, 2000 PR, and 4000 EH (last decreasing fast )
so it won't take too much CPU/bandwidth

the problem is that if there weren't that dispute/misunderstanding/whatever between us,
I've written you VERY fast, because I saw the difference that day
at around 21:00 GMT+2 (19:00 UTC), that's the EVERYDAY hour when I check my stats
I noticed it that day because I know how much my stats numbers should increase daily

but, because that "conflict", I tought that someone else will see that and report, and I didn't "bugged" it
well, next time I'll see something, I'll tell u as fast as I'll be able to do it

I'm still intrigued that, from 550k+ crunchers, nobody saw/reported the problem
probably it's more fun to yada-yada on forum than to do something useful
well, this is another subject (you'll say "Intergenerational conflict", i think this is the term)

maybe you'll talk with the author of sahuserstats.xpi to arrange it for the rest of the projects
