Hi Willy,

I've been made aware of this bug in this thread.

A team mate of mine joined SETI.Germany in Reversi via BAM! and has it written as such in her Teams list. In BOINCstats itself, allprojectstats and probably the project she's a member of Noticias3D.com.

I've had a look at my own teams list, haven't been there for quite a while as I usually join and manage my team affiliation on the project pages themself once I set up profile, sig, avatar etc. I have 4 times no team attached, though I'm definitely a member, and I have 3 times only numbers instead of a name, and once a wrong written team name.
The number of one project doesn't fit, I'm in team #7 @ViP, not #8 as is stated in the list.

I dunno whether it's BAM! or the projects XML or the wrong server software version or Murphy's law, I just know something's wrong

Edit:
I forgot to mention the project names of those that don't seem normal:
No team at the following ones: GeneticLife (I'm even the founder there) , IBERCIVIS, PS3RID, RieselSieve (Not reachable)
Numbers at the following: Magnetism@home, UCT Malaria (both right) and VirtualPrairie
Wrong team spelling (Seti.Germany instead of SETI.Germany): Leiden

Can't find much wrong with, need more input.

About the projects on your account:
I can find two projects where the team name is not exactly "SETI.Germany". One had "Seti" instead of "SETI". I'm pretty sure (99.99999999%) that at the time of adding this project to your BAM! account that the name was written that way at the project. Now, let's not waste time about your team name at Predictor (no flame war here).

When it shows numbers instead of a team name then BAM! was unable to retrieve the team name. I have made a script that tries to find the team names every hour. It did fix the numbers.

Where you are not a member of a team (or the wrong team) simply use the team search and join the correct team. This will do no harm to your project account (and if you are a founder, you still will be).

If you join/create a team outside of BAM! then BAM! doesn't know about it, hence no team name. Can't explain the wrong team for VIP.

Aren't the teams extracted from my accounts for the projects I join before they enter BAM!? Do I have to do this manually? Why isn't there at least a checkbox "find team from account", like the "find account" on the "Sign-up for projects" page?

I've done it, I "joined" the teams I was already in, it seemed to have worked. I'm a "New Member" in those teams now, very strange, but I still can administer at GenLife.

As for the numbers: Thanks, it worked.
As for ViP: I was once for a short while (month or so) a member of B@H, perhaps the information was gathered in that time frame isn't this section updated from the projects?

Some things are updated manually from the projects, but it's impossible to do this for every item of a BAM! account. Imagine the server (and the projects servers) going through 40000+ BAM! accounts for 79 projects, and several RPC's need to be called. How long will it be before the BS server is on the block list of some of the projects?

I thought more along the lines of the XML that you already have, not special look-ups in the project database.

That's the first place the script looks, and if it isn't there it goes to the project.
