I should unthrottle my machines sometime and see how many extra creds I can generate. Does anyone else throttle all their machines? I do it to keep from burning out the CPUs ahead of time, and to make sure I've got power available for myself!

@Tanthalas: Boinc is very good at stepping aside if somethingelse needs to be done. On one machine it steps down to less than 1% when games run. And you won't fry you CPU, you'll use more power, and the fans will wear faster, that's all.

I burned out a fan in my laptop about 6-8 months after getting it brand new. Took about 2 weeks to get a new fan replacement.

well it was a laptop, still under warrenty, and wasnt completey gone, just make some really bad noises. Just thought i best not to use it.

Way to go, Jorick. Congrats on 250K! I used to limit CPU to 85%. I now have a new dual processor PC and Threadmaster didn't seem to work anymore.

Thanks for the tip, Marten. The new computer works fine using full processing, so I've been letting it have all the power it wants. :-)
