Doing a name search for 'WyerByter' suggests your name has split CPIDs. Make sure your email is the same across all projects. Even better if you can have one computer attached to all projects you're registered to, so this doesnt happen.

For some reason Prime grid and another one changed CPID's. Is it possible that it is because WCG does not yet have the correct CPID? I am currently only running one box and it has all projects attached to it.

@student_: it's the other way around, longer 'connection interval' = larger cache. If you set it to contact servers each 5 days, it will download work to keep busy for 5 days

I think the other one I had trouble with was RieselSieve, which is also PerlBOINC.

@Dan: Usually happens if the General Pref 'Do work while computer is in use?' is set to yes. For some reason sometimes General Prefs dont easily migrate IMO.

Does anyone know anything about performing 'Update Time' function in WinXP causing tasks to exit with zero status. My machine had got out of sync by a minute or so, I updated. All current tasks exited with zero status. Is it a known prob?

Upon erflection it's obvious, BOINC is monitoring time constantly! My usual learning process- do a stupid thing, get bad result, think, understand, don't do it again. :-)

Pieface: Umm, same thing as with any other down project: leave it alone. It'll resolve itself when the project comes back up.

Isn't that fun to see a negative credit bar.

What's going on with primegrid? I get message saying it's overloaded (load: 21. 27). Now that's a lot of load

@PovAddict: My guess: about this time PG re-issues timed-out results. With a short deadline (1 day or so, BOINC going EDF), so they get loads of results back very soon.

Has anybody thought about how many people we could get to contribute if we advertised BOINC through myspace message bulletins?

@WinTea: I don't think it was RCN, because they haven't been up in four or five days. The negative credit bar came from two projects decideing to change my CPID, but they seem to be back now.

from BOINC: "UW-Madison CAE, the first BOINC user to top the 1 TERAFLOPS barrier, has surpassed 2 TERAFLOPS. Congratulations!" --- what about Bruce Allen, or nez? Bruce Allen far exceeds UW-Madison CAE in FLOPS.
