There was an AGP bus with the original 6800 GT, and I seem to remember some of the ATI/nVidia around the 7800 supporting AGP.

As to the i7, the AGP bus was present on the mobos which supported the procs of those days. Doubt there's an i7 mobo with AGP

Best AGP card ever: HD 3870. There were AGP HD 4650s, but they could not do Double Precision like the HD 3850 and HD 3870

but the latest boards i know are with AM2 and 775 socket for C2D ^^ i have one of it still as a MediaPC with a E6600.

card SERIES/generation, and not specific model numbers. It's old enough we can deal with generations, and not the budget end

Incidently, I do remember ATI not dropping the bus quite as soon. In retrospect I did wish I got the 6800 GT to go with myA64
