I guess the problem is that the news feed itself is on the server that doesn't work and the Status display shows only if the server is running and responding to echo pakets, not if it does something useful

It is possible to mark servers with offline-status in red ? Better visible at the quick view.

LHC seems back up and running fine. I transmitted some 30 hours worth of work in the afternoon, after seeing it buggered in the morning

yep, LHC is back - currently high load on the database though but the database has not lost data, no need to reset the project

crunch LHC for science - not for credits
Guest

spooh: most people don't crunch for science, they do it so they can brag that they got more credits done then anyone else. It's just human nature to do so. I do it for both science and the credits. But thats only me.

spooh: who cares if we only do it for the credit/status? we are still donating cpu time, and the science still gets done doesn't it??

But when things go badly, please try to rmemmber that the science is the important thing. And also that everyone is suffering with the same problems.

But does Science matter if there is no one to appreciate its progress?

John McLeod VII: True true. We are not the ones who really miss out when things go wrong, it's the science that does.

Both science and credits here - plus the great international community that come from BOINC - plus a little computer fetishism ;-)

@all below: excactly what I do

for me science is the driver, but the credit makes it fun. I wouldn't crunch meaningless stuff just for the credit. Who would care?
