Rosetta's server status is still up - that's why it isn't showing as off-line here. Tey have WU's qued but not handing them out. Probably a scheduler problem.

Sounds familiar, had that error, trying to install BOINC as service. No problem when I installed it as shared instead. . . .

@6TeachR - I had that error and got it to install by removing the old BOINC program from my control panel/add remove s/w first.

Glad to be back crunching again. Wilma took me out of the picture for 10 days, 13 hours. Hurricanes are not a lot of fun.

@Fary: A question: why are most houses in hurricane-areas made of wood and not of stone? Wouldn't stone houses be better?
Guest

@Willy: Wood houses are much cheaper to build and in the areas where the hurricanes hit, most people didn't think the damage would be that bad. Also, the houses tend to be cheaply made and thus easily replaceable.

a 150mph wind is going to leave a mark no matter what a house is made of. a brick house has a roof made out of wood. . . . . . . . .

Stone is hard to find in places like the gulf coast. It would have to be shipped from very far away adding to the expense.

Any word on an expected return of XtremLab?

is there a place that documents the changes between the boinc client revisions, more than the generic description on the download page

Our house is CBS (cinder block) a cement block about 8" by 15" (will have to measure) that is hollow and very strong. A cat 1 is like sticking your habd out of a speeding car - not very dramtic. We had wind between 85 and 90 for 1. 5 hours.
