My personal background
I'm a licensed electrician. (electricians do it in hot boxes!)
I work on computers, networks, and automation.
For hobbies I repair and tweak tube amps, play and listen to music, and dabble in ANSI C++.

Opinion about BOINCstats/BAM!
I donate my spare CPU cycles to BOINC to help find cures for cancers, et al. I became intrigued with the concept after the first stories about SETI, but decided the medical research was more worthwhile (in my opinion). I'm sure there is other life out there... but we may not really want them to find us. So be careful what you wish for.


I was with UD/grid.org from mid-1990s until a couple years ago when they kind of finished their original mission (felt more like being abandoned), and just recently installed BOINC to again stop wasting my LAN's idle time.
