My name is Rick, I am 26, a Nuclear Engineer who has chosen Probabilistic Risk Assessment as a career path.

Opinion about BOINCstats/BAM!
I like to think that my excess computing power is helping to save the world one small step at a time. I tend to choose projects that are humanitarian in benefits, and whose results will be catalogued and available for all to use, not for only a for-profit company's benefit. Maybe my computing will put us days closer to finding a cure for aids or cancer, or maybe it helps to best administer malaria vaccines in africa and saves a child's life. These are the things I truly beleive in.

And just in case the Human Race decides that it must extinguish itself through wars and disease, and by poisoning its planet, I also contribute to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence in the hopes that a more enlightened species may one day make contact help save the human race from our suicidal tendencies.
