I have a few computers running BOINC, (Rosetta), which do not have a monitor, keyboard, or mouse attached to them.

I need them to send in their results at least once each day, (they are not networked, and looking at the "computer view" is how I see that they're still folding). A 2 or 3 day work cache is preferred, if possible.

Since these are all dedicated 24/7 folders, I prefer them to work on larger (say 8 hour), WU's - that's what they're on right now. Problem is, they won't send in their results every day, unless I swap the monitor/keyboard/mouse over, and click on the "update" button.

I definitely do NOT want to have to do that!

Can someone spell out *exactly* what the global preferences need to be to do this? (There are currently no local preferences on any of these rigs). This is my third time to try this and vague answers in the past, have all failed.

How to do 8 hour WU's and have results sent in every day, at least?

Thanks a lot. I know how much more effort it is to give detailed instructions to beginners. I do it all the time for Folding@Home.

Too bad

I know of a trick for the 5.x clients but it doesn't seem to work on 6.x.

Do you use BAM!. BAM! orders the client to connect to the project every time the host talks with BAM!.

I've seen the BAM! logo, but I don't know what BAM! is.

What is BAM? (if you don't mind)

I've just now changed my "internet connection" preference to .50 days, and left the number of days in the queue, alone. I'll give that a few days to get set, and see how it does.

Go to the BAM!-FAQ or simply click on that logo.
