... After much delay and mulling about it I spent the better part of yesterday getting the PS3 I bought a couple of weeks ago up and running the Yoyo Project. I managed to get YDL installed, not on the first attempt though because I thought the YDL would Partition the Hard Drive when it did the Installation. So I had to start over later in the day & Partition the Drive & then do the YDL Installation.

YDL is quite different from Ubuntu so I had to muck around a little getting used to it, I even surprised myself & got PS3 BOINC Client installed without to much hassle. Attached to Yoyo and ran 1 Wu that only took 25 minutes or so, the 2'nd Wu has been running for close to 10 hr's now though. I asked in the Forum if that was normal @ somebody said they can last 40 hr's or more.

I Attached to the Team at Yoyo but haven't @ the PS3 Site because I can't get my normal Account registered. That stupid BOINC All Teams site created a Team & Account for me before I got there and I can't get into it because I don't know the Password. I Deleted the Account @ the BOINC All Teams site as it was more bother than it was worth, it did the same thing to me @ several other sites too but I got them straightened out. I working on getting it straightened out @ the PS3 Site but so far no luck. To top it off the "forgot password" feature doesn't work because I've tried it a dozen times already & haven't received anything.

About the only problems I've had so far with YDL is the Box rebooted it's self several times when using the FireFox Browser and running BOINC @ the same time. So I just don't use FireFox unless I shut down BOINC first. One other annoying thing that I haven't been able to straighten out yet is that the Desktop Background won't center on my 22" LCD Monitor. It's off to 1 side by 2" & low by about 1". I've Googled searched endlessly but haven't come up with anything on that so far. But other than those 2 things about all thats let for me to do is framilerize myself with YDL a little better so I can get around it easier ...

I'm not all that impressed with the PS3 so far, mainly because it can only run 1 Wu at a time which I already knew before setting it up. But it's simply a dog when running that 1 Wu as far as I can tell because it has very little Onboard Memory & no way to increase it from what I've read so far. I'm almost afraid to touch it when it's running BOINC because it will reboot itself at the least little thing, especially when trying to use FireFox, I think it sucks all the Memory up & then doesn't want to respond so it reboots ...

I'm hoping to get my PS3Grid Account straightened out today, I've had more contact from somebody at the project & the way their talking they'll send me what I need to get into my BOINC All Teams Account & change the Password to what I want so I can continue to use it. Once thats done I'll Attach the PS3 to the PS3Grid & will have something else to run on it besides Yoyo's ...

PS: Here's what I mean, while I was Typing the above Post the PS3 Locked up because I fogot & tried to use FireFox thats installed when you install YDL. It was acting up then so I stopped trying to use it because it wasn't working anyway. So I messed around a little with another Box and when I re-checked the PS3 it was Locked up solid. I ended up having to pull the Power Plug because it wouldn't shut off or reboot ... Pathetic really ...
