I've installed boinc manager and it's running fine. I run seti, einstein and LHC at the moment.

One caution though...

FIRST de-install BOINC 4.19 or earlier because it will NOT replace the old one and therefore will not run correctly. My bad I was used to being able to install it over the old one while it is running...

Not so anymore. Even after quitting the old one and restarting the computer BOTH came on and 4.25 sat idle. I had to de-install both and reinstall BOINC manager after a reboot. Then everything ran fine.

I do not know if things would have been different if I had quit old BOINC before installing the new one.

Maybe someone else can test.....

I stopped BOINC then installed 4.25. Didn't work, had to uninstall BOINC first.

After uninstalling, I installed 4.25, and it picked up the existing WU's and continued them.

Same here.
No problems with half crunched WUs, but uninstall first.
Again all backup for nothing
