I upgraded several computers and one of them did a reset of all projects. The oher 3 picked up where the old client stopped.

Make a backup of your BOINC folder before upgrading!

I just have 2 puters, but no work loss on both with upgrade from 4.13 > 4.18 > 4.19.
And on one even no loss from 4.19 > 4.22.

But, just for sure, copy the dir anywhere else as a backup

It is not supposed to reset your work unless the number before the decimal changes.

for my 2 puters its now ok,with no reset given.

@sänger ich wart noch auf das bier
@ John do you mean that a reset is only made if the general version number changes? for example 3.xx --> 4.xx?

Yes, however, there have been some reports of lost work with every upgrade. Unfortunately, the usual culprit/victim is CPDN (losing one of those that is 99% done will bring tears to your eyes).

Believe in you John, how much time does a CPDN workunit take for you? i read something about 900 hours on a 1400Mhz CPU? and how much credit do you earn for one WU?

~900h on my AMD Athlon XP 2200+ XPPro SP1

And it's 72 x 94 = 6768 Credits

On the P200 (which I never expected to receive a WU ... ever) it states that it is going to take about another 300 -- days, it has already done about 60 days.

On my somewhat faster computers they seem to be doing about 800 to 1200 hours. Sulphur is going to about double that.

Is Sulphur a new project?

AFAIK a new model for CPDN, not a new project.

Like Charmm and MFold in Predictor.

Thanks for the info. I wonder if this model will feature smaller work units?
