BAM doesn't add my host to the host page, nor does it attach new projects or update my preferences when I connect, even though the username and password are correct.

Your host was attached to BAM! (host-id 11798). It connected a few times (13x), got replies from BAM!, and it vanished somewhere yesterday, it is no longer in the database. Last connection was 2006-10-13 06:26:26 (GMT). Don't know your timezone, but it's save to say that that is not the same time as in your post. I don't think your host is actually connecting to BAM!.

Please post the contents of the file acct_mgr_reply.xml (found in the BOINC dir).

thanks for the fast reply...

actually, the host you're referring to was a windows xp host that i've deleted from the database (was testing it)

anyway, my main system is gentoo linux and that's the client i was referring to...i don't find a acct_mgr_reply.xml file...here are the contents of the boinc directory:

/var/lib/boinc/master_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml
/var/lib/boinc/statistics_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml
/var/lib/boinc/lookup_account.xml
/var/lib/boinc/client_state.xml
/var/lib/boinc/global_prefs.xml
/var/lib/boinc/sched_request_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml
/var/lib/boinc/lockfile
/var/lib/boinc/client_state_prev.xml
/var/lib/boinc/account_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml
/var/lib/boinc/lookup_website.html

does this help you at all?

i understand...but that's what i'm trying to accomplish...this host was connected at one time, but for some reason it doesn't anymore.

boinc manager keeps connecting with the bam.boincstats.com server and returning: 'No accounts reported by account manager'

my username is ben_pont and i know my password is correct...it's all the same info i use to login to this website...so how do i get this host recongnized by bam's server?

BAM updated my resource sharing as you can see from this screenshot: http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/76/screenshotqm1.png

so how did this host suddenly stop being recognized?

BAM! doesn't send updated resource shares to a host. The are send to the projects, which send it to the hosts (I know, the long route).

ok...but i thought the point of the account manager was to connect the host to the projects...my host was apparently connected at one point, but now is not...i don't know why or how to get my host recognized, since i've done everything correctly.
