Comments on the following newsitem

The AQUA project is getting promising data from D-Wave's quantum processors. The project is currently running a large number of simulations to help analyze this data. Anyone in the BOINC community with available CPU capacity would be very welcome to help out. The applications are now highly optimized and pay well. Please spread the word among your team members if you are interested in this scientific effort.

BOINC in itself is not our goal. We are using it to solve some hard problems that need lots of computing power. I know at some point when SETI was younger people would be asked to use their older computers that were not doing anything to crunch for science. But AQUA needs the fastest (= expensive) machines possible.

The goals and priorities of different projects are not the same. These are autonomous projects and requiring parity for the assigned credit is a burden that some projects are not willing or able to take.

An alternative to trying to have parity between projects is to stop adding up credit from different projects. So you may have this many MilkyWay credits and that many AQUA credits, and there is no total BOINC credit.

I agree with zombie69 that credit parity is no longer possible. So let us not create friction among the projects. They are all doing some worthy research.

BTW we usually decrease the amount of credit after an optimization round.

What's the point in having AQUA (and some other credit-junky projects) in BOINC combined stats?

if they do lowering their credit, i think i'll drop Aqua after this task that currently running finished
