We started sending out our annual year-end donation drive mass e-mail. The process could take days. If you didn't get one (possibly due to spam blocking), you can read the same letter on-line here. Thank you!!!

So, I just checked what they need (conveniently hidden here). How do they come to that insane amount? And tell me, on what do they spend the $10000 for web site development? The code is maintained by volunteers who don't get paid and on top of that, what was the last change you saw on their website?

They should update that budget page to reflect the real amount they need. These can't be accurate numbers. The page hasn't changed in two years. They need $80000 three years in a row to get 1Gbit to their lab?

I think money is better spend on projects that ask for reasonale amounts of money, like here, here, here, here, or even here. And there are lots more projects that need support. Please consider these as well.

For me, the novelty of SETI@Home wore off a long time ago... Perhaps the problems they've been having as of late with donations & users are a reflection that others feel the same way?
