Dear Participant,

Due to a number of adverse conditions we decided to shut down the project. I would like to thank all participants for their support.

Thank you.

Thanks Willy!
I've had a queue of 34 wu's trying to phone home forever. Couple those with 200 AlmereGrid trying to do the same, the pipeline has been so clogged the BOINC Manager has been as responsive as a slug. Guess I can safely go ahead and dump the AI's with a detachment...damn.

"Alas poor Yorick ne'er had a brain in his head, on account of the artificial intelligence project ended up dead!"

PS: Any suggestions as to the best way to manage network when you have a massive backlog of results to send back? The bottleneck this time has been more debilitating than ever before.

Bill, if you are familiar with cc_config.xml you should be able to open up more slots to allow uploads and downloads to take place while limiting the amount of slots any one project can take like this .....

<cc_config>
<options>
<max_file_xfers>12</max_file_xfers>
<max_file_xfers_per_project>2</max_file_xfers_per_project>
</options>
</cc_config>

Of course adjust the numbers in the example above any way you see fit.

Wonder if the "adverse condition" was that the project started making decisions without human input?

Nah, more likely humans making decisions without intelligent input.

I'm sorry to see this project go, i hope there will be other projects along those lines, and maybe the authors would put in the public domain what they worked/learned so far so others could pick up where they left.

Till then we'll make do with extraterrestrial intelligence, or maybe human improved through gene therapy
