OK last week was a bit busy with conferences and switch on events.
Hope you enjoyed the blow by blow account from our man on the ground.
The server here got hammered for the entire week as BBC4 had a link to us but we hope everyone was able to get the work that was available.
Switch on itself went brilliantly and this was a direct result of LHC@home.
If you had not been crunching data there is a good chance that the two beams would not have been circulated that quickly and they could have spent ages just getting beam thorugh one sector.
We are still waiting on collisions, there was a chance that we'd see them yesterday but looks like it is next week now.
There is still plenty of work needed on the magnets as they ramp up to full luminosity so there will be plenty of SixTrack work from CERN.
Fingers crossed, and yes I know I keep saying this but scientists can work slowly, meticulously, but slowly we will have some more apps running.
The scientists are looking into the 6.X issues with BOINC as well.
Thanks,
Neasan
