Now:
The usernames of a user in all projects are read, doubles are taken out, and what's left (if it's more than one name) is pasted together as "Name1 / Name2 / Name3". If there is just a single name, it becomes "Name".
This could result in "John@Seti / John@Predictor/ John.B.@CPDN / JB at Zivis" and so on.
Soon:
Only one of the names will be used. This can be any of the names but the database engine seems to prefer older projects (projects are inserted into the DB from oldest to newest when updating the stats). For most users, this will mean the SETI name is used.
Why:
The increasing number of projects demands a different database structure, which in turn changes some of the queries used. The most efficient and fasted query is the one where the database engine itself picks one of the names.
Anything else?:
Yes, the idea is to replace the name in the stats with the BAM! username when available. This will however not be implement at the same time as the change above.
