Somewhere there is a forum thread titled--To boldly go where no stats site has gone before-- or something like that. It must be over two years old by now and I don't even remember which section it was in. If I remember correctly, the World Cup gives more weight to the lesser crunched projects. For example, 100 credits at a project like QuakeCatcher, where there are fewer participants, are worth more World Cup points than 100 credits at a project like SETI, where there many more participants. The idea was to encourage crunching at the lesser known, or frequented, projects. Again, this is from an old and often faulty memory. Any misrepresentation is strictly my own.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to this. No wonder. I did one project for mersenna and got like 8 credits for some 10 hours of work, and I thought hmmm, then why is the worldcup such a big percentage of the pie chart when credits are so little? haha. now I know.

And it seems Quakecatcher is not on Bonic anymore so I cannot check but Mersenna would be a good example I think of what you are trying to tell me, seems few people use it.

I will try to search for that thread you mentioned, but I think I understand. Actually it seems it means nothing for the most part.
