I am so angry right now about how crappy your website and service are. I realize this is free and I get what I pay for. Having said that my account is now broken and I really doubt that I will ever be able to use your service (I desperately want to use BAM and boincstats) and will have to use one of the other account managers out there.

I am not sure exactly when my problems started, but I noticed that my signature was only displaying a retired project stats. I tried everything I could think of over the course of the past year to get the signature to display correctly so I could use it, to no avail. I had to reinstall my system during the past year for a different problem and when I got around to installing BOINC, I started experiencing a project being deleted from my Boinc Manager on a regular basis. I finally go fed up with that behavior in the past week. I decided to remove that project and then add it back to my project list in Boincstats. It deleted just fine, but I could never get it to show back up, and I even waited a few days for this to update on your server. It never came back. So then I figured I just needed to reset my account. There being no easy way of doing that, I deleted my account, waited a few days and then re-registered it.

That was a couple of days ago when I did this. I had added at least one of my projects to my Project List, but it has not showed up. I can't get even one of the 4 projects I have to show up. The signature says Invalid_ID. I obviously have one. So I can only conclude, especially after browsing over the problems others are experiencing, that for some of us plebes out here this website and service are just plain crap. I see that others are having no problems with their signature which leads me to believe it works for them. I searched for a solution, but never found one. Maybe I just used the wrong words to search for and there is a solution to my problem, so forgive me if I did not find the solution when one exists.

My frustration will not last much longer. Maybe a week is all the time I am willing to wait for a solution. You have got to put a reset button to clear all the stats, reset the signature, remove all the projects, etc. for people like me who need to clear the slate, so to speak. If my problem can't be solved then I will go to another Account Manager, so here is your chance to keep me from leaving. Thanks for your help in advance.

Nothing wrong with this:

as far as I can see.

You've got a split CPID problem with Predictor@Home, which IS a retired project. To fix this, go to the menu on the left hand side of your stats page, then:

Click on the word " BOINCstats " , the last link in the "My BAM menu" list.

Go back to same place in the menu, and you'll see:

BOINCstats
# BOINCstats settings
# Best five days
# Signature
# Sync retired projects

Click on "Sync retired projects" and Predictor@Home should come and join your active projects on your Sig. It'll probably still read "Retired projects", but at least you'll have ALL your projects on the same sig.

Won't work since TS (like some others) think the solution lies in deleting their account. All the connections to retired projects before his new join date are gone. He cannot sync them.

Of course you're right. It slipped my mind that if you delete the original account that you used with the retired project, then the sync. function no longer works.

Wow, it took you this long to seek help? Renew CPID is the "reset" you needed. Deleting your account is really going to fudge things up. As Rigel pointed out, you won't be able to combine your Predictor stats with your current account. So, they won't show up in your signature and there will be two users with the same name if you search the stats.

Regarding the problem with a project detaching from one of your hosts, you can go to your Host list and make sure it's attached there... Make sure "Delayed detach" is not checked, and "Attach" is. Save, then go to BOINC and do "Synchronize with BOINCstats BAM!" from the "Tools" menu.

After I wrote this post, I played around on the website and noticed that I did not have a CPID listed in my profile. I don't remember what I did to get it back. Once I had a CPID I added, yes added, new accounts for the 4 projects I am currently participating in. The other way says it found them, but they never showed up in the project list. This seemed to not cause any problems for me (I must have not created another user with that same name as that would not be allowed). I now have all the projects listed and my signature is correct. The only thing that is not Ok is the retired project that I had about 4,000 credits cannot be added back. Oh well. I will get over it.

I still want to know why this website made me have to do (delete myself as a user) what I did to make my signature return to normal, not have the disappearing project (I think that might have been my fault), and I assume report the credits I was earning correctly. I never really found any clear instructions on what to do. They may have been there, but the search I used did not give me a result that included them. Remember I was trying to solve a signature problem that would not display all my projects, just the one that had been retired was being shown and the disappearing project.

This has been a very frustrating process. I don't like it when I can't make something do what I want it to do. Other than that, I like this website and I hope it will get better over time.

Be patient and welcome to BOINCstats! I have been a member for about a year or so. On a scale of ten, I would rate my computer skills about a three. It took me the better part of a month to become acclimated to the intricacies of this site and BOINC in general. I have since found this to be a very mature site with many helpful members (far more knowledgeable than myself) who are more than willing to devote their time to help new users on these forums. Again, be patient and take the time to browse and post in the appropriate threads.
