I have been looking through the CPU Host Breakdown pages and notice that my CPU type is listed twice. It appears that the text string for the CPU is the exact same for each listing ... AMD Sempron(tm) 2400+

http://www.boincstats.com/stats/host_cpu_stats.php?pr=sah&st=300&or=0

I have been told that AMD might have had two significantly different production runs of the Sempron series of processors and that is why there are two separate listings.

I will check the Sempron development cycle to see if this is the case.

Does anyone know why? Is there a problem in the database? Should the listings be combined into one?

Thanks

There are indeed several different types of Sempron.

1: socket A Semprons, basically renamed Athlon XP's
2: socket 754 Semprons, with and without 64bit instructions
3: socket 939 Semprons, with 64bit instructions. These are very rare and only supplied to OEMS
4: socket AM2 Semprons, , with 64bit instructions

2,3 and 4 are based on the Athlon64.

These CPU's have different CPU-ID's, where the difference is mostly limited to the number of spaces.

Thanks Willy

Is there any way for me to tell which of the two listings for AMD Sempron(tm) 2400+ my CPU would be grouped into?

I have the socket A version of the AMD Sempron(tm) 2400+

I am leaving town for the weekend and will not be able to check for a possible reply for the next three days.
