Looking at the Folding@Home stats, you can see extremely high values for the top teams:
1 Overclockers Australia 165,365,414
2 L'Alliance Francophone 94,512,856
3 Helix 40,085,948

So the 3 top teams together have about 300 million cobblestones.

But the project statistic says:
Total Credit 153,477

User and country stats also don't fit with the high team credits.

As a participant in the FAH-BOINC-Betatest I can confirm, that no-one crunched that much.
You have to adjust the credits (which were just FAH-points renamed) to the usual BOINC-Credits by multiplying them with app. 2.5, that would amke the unmbers even more ridiculous.

The numbers in the project overview are the right ones, perhaps Willy has messed something while trying to get rid of the numbers instead of teams, that were exported by Stanford.

No messing up by me I'm afraid, I wish it would be that easy.

I checked the original XML and here is the entry for the top team:
Code:

<team>
<id>24</id>
<name>24</name>
<total_credit>165365414</total_credit>
<nusers>1</nusers>
<founder_name>Lombers</founder_name>
<url>http://www.overclockers.com.au/folding/</url>
<name_html>Overclockers Australia</name_html>
</team>

As you can see, it's represented as it should on BS.

However, I'm inclined to believe that these numbers are incorrect. But how to know for sure.

P.S. @ Saenger: this is not you talking on behalve of SETI Germany because you lost the number one spot???

I decided the numbers must be wrong and I made changes to the update so the credits will be removed from the BOINC combined after the next daily.

So, teams that are now at very high positions in the rankings because of Folding: make a screenshot for later use.

I know for sure that my values (2721) are correct (not realy, they missed out the first few from the XML, I had something about 4500, but so what?)
I also know for sure that nobody crunched that much in Folding-BOINC-Beta.
If you add the users up you get a quite good estimate, I think.

We'll be overtaken by Susanne, 2ch and the Francophones anyway, I don't mind, but not in this fashion

I thought this was BOINCstats - not DC stats - Folding is not a BOINC project and IMO - should not be included in BOINC stats...

Does anyone else see a problem with this ???

It has been difficult enough to get cross project parity for credits - to start adding in non BOINC projects.

Just a thought is all.

The folding credits added were generated by a BOINC Folding client in beta testing. It never made it to production.

For l'Alliance Francophone, there is also the fact that an other Alliance Francophone exists on F@H (l'Alliance Francophone 51).

So it may explain a part of those wrong numbers, mindenstens for my team.

Just my 2 cents.

I don't think that anyone from L'Alliance Francophone (under Boinc) has run F@H Beta in the past for so many credits.
These statistics are erroneous, imho.

edit :
@ Willy
L'Alliance Francophone and Alliance Francophone are 2 different teams.
About Alliance Francophone, they are under F@H classic.

Will they reappear some time in the future, or is the database simply too buggy? It seems that the individual credits look fine, the intra-team comparsion is fine as well, just the summed-up team credits are somehow messed up.

As we have only 106 participants in 33 teams, would it be possible to make the calculations by hand (or handmade script or whatever) for the teams? As no-one will crunch for them in the near future, and I very much doubt that another test will be made with the same database in Stanford, not much will be lost with this.

The numbers in the XML files are just wrong. No way to fix that without guessing.

But only the team ones, not the personal, at least as far as saw here.
I think most teams can live without them (and have to do if nothing is fixable), but you could include the personal ones, as if all crunchers were teamless.

Again I must ask - this site is called BOINCstats - not DC Stats, Folding is not a BOINC project -
So - why again are we thinking of including it in BOINCstats ????

Maybe because Folding was during some times a beta Boinc project (though "hidden" ). (?)

It *was* a BOINC project.

I crunched Folding using the BOINC client (version 4.19 iirc), I crunched some 4200 or 4500, dunno exactly, points (FAH-points, that were used as BOINC-credits, conversion factor was on the to-do-list). As it was Beta, the first ones were not documented by the BOINC servers, only by FAH-stats, wich are different, like with WCG.

The last post by Vijay Pande, the FAH-admin, in the hidden beta-test forum was:
28/8/2006, 17:43
We have not dropped BOINC, but there are several things that have to go out first (GPU client, PS3 client, v6). Considering how much we need to do with those and the relative benefit to FAH, the BOINC client will not be out any time soon. I'll post when there is an update, but if I don't post, it means there's nothing I can say. Abhay has graduated and moved on (that's the staffing issue I refered to on the BOINC faq).

The BOINC page itself has vanished since, but Willy did not delete the old XMLs, so he still has our stats from that time. He always had them, only hidden from public, I've seen them since he started collecting them, must have been some time around April/June 2005.

Edith says:
BTW: I have 2720 credits in my stats @FAH-BOINC, ind the whole FAH I have 19331 points, as I crunched Folding a bit more on a work puter with the native client.

For now, Folding credits are included into combined for users, but not for teams.

When I feel really bored I'll try to fix the team credits by adding up the member credits.
