Having just been ticked-off by Willy for reporting a Bug in the Stats Bug Report topic, in the most recent thread ( which to me sounded relevant ) " Total credit in project list in host stats don't update ", because for him it should have gone into a new thread. At present there are 710 threads just in the Stats Bug Report topic alone.

Couldn't the reporting of Bugs be simplified a little? - OK & fine 1 topic for Stats Bugs and another for BAM Bugs. Wouldn't it be easier for everyone if these topics were sub-divided in just a few more general threads? For Example - 1 for main stats pages; 1 for project pages; 1 for host pages; 1 for team stats pages; 1 for country related problems, etc.

At present, if we want to be picky, someone's got to sort through 710 threads to know whether to start a new thread or not, just when reporting a stats bug. The Rules say that each new bug should have a new thread...but are we all sure that it's a NEW bug that we're reporting?

Well, separate general threads (like the ones you suggested) are not good. Since this will make a hell to manage for Willy - just imagine having 100+ bugs reported in one thread with the related comments to them. The point of having different threads for each new bug is that after Willy fixes it he puts an asterisk in the title and possibly lock which means the bug is fixed. And if all bugs are in one thread marking fixed bugs and related comments will not be possible So i think this will make things worst.

Different sub forums on the other hand will look good (not sure if possible with the BOINC forum code).

And besides you don't have to look at all the 710 threads. You normally should look at the first one maximum two pages of threads. Others are very old and it is better to post a new thread rather then reviving a thread that is 6 months old
