WCG has a nice feature that shows you how many hours you've actually crunched for their projects, as well as how many the entire community has crunched altogether. Is there a way to integrate that for all projects into BOINCstats? Credits are fine, but they're pretty arbitrary and don't mean much at first glance. On the individual user level, seeing work done as an actual expression of processor time would be really interesting and might be more useful for those who don't really care about credits per se. On the BOINC-wide level, it would provide a really nice 'wow' factor to show the power of what can be accomplished as a whole. For instance, on this page, you can see all of the vital stats for work done on behalf of WCG, which is currently more than 106,000 years of processor time! I'd love to know what the stats are for BOINC overall, as well as for the other projects. I also think it'd be easier to put BOINC's contributions in real terms and possibly attract new volunteers if we could say collectively we have donated 5,000,000 years of computer time, rather than just saying 32,000,000,000 points in credit. I mean, credits matter to some of us, but does anyone else care? The time figure says much more to me and makes the contributions much more concrete.

Since you've already got credit per CPU second in the stats, couldn't you just use a calculation like seconds=((1/(credit/second)) * credit) to get the time figures for any given project/user? Or are time figures already part of the XML stats being imported?

P.S. Some of the other stats on the WCG page I linked to above are interesting as well and would be nice to see as part of BS.

I don't have the time to check if the XML stats include the actual spent time for each WU (or up-to-date), but the a credit-based calculation of the actual crunch-time would be rather complicated because each project uses it's own formula to calculate points generated.

But it is an interesting featurer-request and I also would like to see it as an extra column :-)

But since Willy has somehow figured out the average credit/second, doesn't that make each project's formula irrelevant? With an average credit/second, wouldn't the formula above work (assuming Willy's numbers are correct)?

Willy didn't figure anything out. It's exported by projects with up-to-date servercode.

And I think it's extremely badly calculatable to hours/days/years.

Why's that? Just curious.
