Don't you think it could be interesting to see the progress of the annual fundraising drive? It colud be possible to create some graphics and/or statistics?

Well, that's goo but I was thinking on something with more information. For example: amout donated each day durnig last 30 days, or amount each month during last 12 months... Well, of course it's just an idea. Or maybe you could create a web with an economic balance (inputs and outputs each day and/or each month...)...

Yeah, something like they have on SETI. I have been told those complete stats aren't there because the donations are so low/few

Oh... I'm sorry Then, forget my idea.

Maybe we should do more relevant the link to 'Annual Fundraising drive' or warm clearly to people than the project needs more money to continue working.

Let's slow down stats loading for everybody except donors! Just kidding. But yeah we need to get more people donating. Maybe if it showed numbers apart from graphical progress bar, we could play with milestones like we do with credits "let's get $100 more during this week!".
I remember somebody on BURP who, during some days, donated 10 cents for each euro somebody *else* donated.

I like your first idea, jejeje. I'm kidding, too .

Seriously speaking, I think th other ideas are interesting and maybe it could be good tools to increase the donations.

couple of questions, is it possible to donate hardware?
also, i noticed that on the list is a scsi controller card, why don't you get a mobo with onboard controller? i am sure you guys have it all planned out and calculated, i am just curious.

amother thing, is it possible to assist with server time. i mean taking load of your server. by the principale of distributed computing. like a blade or cluster.
if you had a multitude of lower performing mirror servers that can respond to requested decentralized, it could turn out quite effective.

or would it be possible to make large teams or projects responsible for gathering there traffic for there clients and projects and then have one unified stream from there server feeding your server. that would take off a lot of traffic.

Of course, if it fits our needs. This means we have no use for 8GB of SDR-DIMM's or a K6-2 300MHz. ANything on the list would be great.

Those aren't so common anymore, but there are other reasons:
1: We want hardware RAID. Most onboard SCSI solutions offer software RAID at best
2: If the onboard SCSI breaks the whole board has to come out.

DC has been considered and would be great considering the thing we are creating stats for. Unfortunately, calculating stats by DC is nearly impossible (for example, the database is alread 15GB large). Decentralizing the website would also mean distributing this database. And then we stilll want the shoutbox, the forum and outher stuff to be the same on every mirror.

or would it be possible to make large teams or projects responsible for gathering there traffic for there clients and projects and then have one unified stream from there server feeding your server. that would take off a lot of traffic.

I'm not sure if I truly understand this

Before you (or anybody else) sends me a check, consider that it costs me €10 to cash it.

Rytis has come up with a solution, he can cash them for €0, and since we are in this together, he's willing to receive checks, then transfer me the hard $$

Rytis will share the details with you.

It's not standard checks that are free - it's Western Union that is (standard checks are 7€ - still cheaper than Willy's ).

If you wish to send the money, you will need my basic personal information:
Name, Surname: Rytis Slatkevicius
City: Kaunas
Country: Lithuania

Have in mind that Western Union transfers do not notify the receiver (that is, me) - I have to go to the bank and claim the transfered money. To do that, I need your name, surname, transfered amount. Preferably (it helps to clear the transfer faster), also the country of residence, address, and MTCN (unique transfer number).

If you don't wish to post your personal information here, please send an email to me (rytis.s@gmail.com) or Willy (webmaster at the well known domain).

Thanks for your support!

Would it be possible to send money directly to back account?
(I would prefer this way - should be cheaper than checks, no need of extra step to get money etc.).
