- there are 12 columns on homepage in project stats table
- they don't fit on a single line
- main table doesn't fit on single screen and news section, UotD etc. are not visible on first sight.

I was wondering if there is anything that can be done about it. Suggestions:
a) A simple one: in "Last XML update", omit timedate of last update and leave on how old is it.
b) A more complex one: make the table 100% width, not 1002 pixels. (I known there is a graphical bar at the top)

1024 might be a major resolution for a while but will be substituted by 1280 soon - if it itsn't already - by 17-19" LCDs, notebooks, by 1366 with LCD TVs etc. (I've 60% of the area unused on 1600x1200.)

What do others think?

Check test2 for a preview of option a).

You realize that this is a temporary solution at best? When more projects emerge, the list will not fit on the screen again.

I'm aware of that and more projects will come for (almost) sure.
test2 page looks better - a project on a single line is easier to read no matter of the total number of projects.

(I like extra semi-frame as well.)

width shouldn't be designed for screen resolution, firstly you don't know what screen resolution someone is using (a non-trivial percentage are still using 800x600), and you also don't know what size the browser window is (ie, not everyone maximises)

use CSS liquid/fluid layouts to achieve a "stretchable" design which is independant of browser size (which includes screen resolution)
