Our race may be over before it's really hit it's stride I'm seeing in my event Logs that the SETI@home project is down for 'maintenance', if this has anything to do with the odd message that was put out on the 27th then i hope it's all resolved soon.

lamentably i have had hardware failures in the lead up to this event never fun when good hardware dies.

The insightful notice SAH published on the 27th should, I hope, put to rest any worries of harm having come to the project due to its (incidental, and thankfully in this case irrelevant) relationship with UC Berkeley. SAH goes through frequent maintenance events not the least of which just have to do with the mountainously unwieldy amount of data the project handles. If you are lucky enough to still have any tasks stored in your job cache, just keep on crunching; odds are good the project servers will be back very soon. Otherwise, I'm sure the MilkyWay@Home challenge (presently ongoing) would also welcome your participation. Best wishes in any case.

Oh! Also, it's Tuesday. So they'll be back online in... roughly ten hours after whenever they went down, which was sometime in the AM PDT.
