the goal is to get the slowest PC to deliver a valid result.

very shure that this one is way too fast - here's my first attempt:

CPU type GenuineIntel
Intel(R) Pentium(R) III Mobile CPU 866MHz [x86 Family 6 Model 11 Stepping 1]
Number of CPUs 1
Operating System Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional x86 Editon, Service Pack 4, (05.00.2195.00)
Memory 383.46 MB
Cache 976.56 KB
Swap space 921.61 MB
Total disk space 55.89 GB
Free Disk Space 52.47 GB
Measured floating point speed 801.9 million ops/sec
Measured integer speed 1355.98 million ops/sec

Frank:

My AMD Duron 850 boat anchor is slightly slower than your P3. but neither will be competitive in the regatta.

Looks like I will have to hit the 2nd hand store circuit to find a boat anchor that will be in contention.

As I said in the SB the other day I think have an old Packard Bell P133 w 32 mb ram somewhere but it may have been thrown out.It was my 1st real computer in joining the age of the internet back in 1997. I did have an Atari 32 back in the early 80's but gave up on computing after that til 97.

If I remeber right we gave up on the 133 with win 95 because of like 50 error messages on bootup I bet now most of em were due to viruses but had little knowledge of OS back in the days.

My next oldest slowest is a Compaq P2-233Ghz w/64 mb of ram which I know I do have but has been somewhat gutted over time and might need a bit of work to use. I think it has Win 98 but not sure there either. I don't think I will spend the time to mess with it as I have no patience with junk...lol.

I also have a P2 400Ghz w128mb ram Win98 that was a computer store build that might be worth messing with but has also been gutted over time...... we see what I can do.
