Yesterday i´ve changed my email in my account ("maind account page" link, and "edit account" link) and it looked ok. Today I find myself detached from all but one project (climateprediction) and consequently without all my credits from those projects. What happened? More important, is there a way to get my credits back?

Thanks!

a ) Read the FAQ
b ) look here

CPDN will follow after the next XML-stats export.

Thank you Sänger for these threads.
I had a similar problem when I changed my e-mail earlier this week - but I guessed it was something to do with e-mail as identifier. So I've been into my projects to register the new e-mail. However, it doesn't solve everything !
1. Some projects are no longer accessible for changing e-mail.
2. BOINCstats seems to have remembered only my totals without any history.
...and the moral of this tale ?
Get yourself an e-mail address which you can probably keep for life - rather than one offered by your phone/internet company !

Has my individual projects email changed when I changed my email in my "main account page" (boincstatsbam)? I believe so because i went check it in two of them and they were already changed. In this case, the delay in CPDN is relatede exclusively to that "xml exporting stuff" you mentioned, right? And when should I expect it to really happen? Should I do something?

One more question: my history is lost forever? I believe there should be a pop-up warning about those collateral effects on the "edit account" link...

Oh, i've just noticed that the history has vanished just from my Boinc Combined stats. The individual project stats history remains intact. Should I expect the combined to be restored when CPDN mix-in with the new ID?

Hello, can someone help me here? How do I merge my splited project (CPDN) with the new id? What do I have to do or how much am I supposed to wait?

If the E-Mail Addresses are the same they should Merge together on their own, it may take a few days though or even longer.

Suppose it'l fix itself but I also changed the e-mailaddress and nick of a Rosetta-project I ran a few years ago to add the account/credits to my present running WCG-account - Boinc combined. Now both projects have the same address and nick. Should that be enough ?

If I change my old "Rosetta" nick to the present "WCG" nick I expect the "Rosetta" credits will be reduced from the former team I joined then. And when both mailaddresses are the same there still wil be two different nicks. So is there a solution for that ?
Or am I missing something ?

The BOINC standard is for credits to stay with the team they were earned with and not change when you change teams, nicks or email addresses. The major exception is CPDN, they handle credit a bit differently from other projects and because of that credit travels with the participant when they change teams. (I have also seen reports of the first team you join getting all of your credit to date, however any version/project I have tried to verify this with has not.)

Nicks are not required to be unique on most projects and are not used to link participants across projects. So having different nicks on different projects will usually result in a mixed nick listing in combined stats. For example mine is listed as JKeck {priate}/Keck_Komputers in some stats reports because I use JKeck{pirate} on permanent test projects and Keck_Komputers on other classes of projects.

I don't want to take my credits away from the (sub)team I left, but for the sake of competition I would like to see my total of credits in boinc-combined stats for instance. If that's not possible so be it.
I changed only my mailaddress.
I still do not know whether I wil see my credittotal under one nick and if so which one ?
We'll see what happens.

Nothing has changed since I changed my Rosetta-mailaddress to the same used at WCG.
I expected to see both accounts as one when I check it at boinc-combined.
It seems just a mailchange isn't enough in contrast to what is claimed.

What's your name @Rosetta?
I can only find one MAB the Frisian (Ik heb mab de fries ook geprobeert ) with only one project, WCG.

You have to have crunched something (and it has to be exported via XML) to appear in the stats, and you have to be both ptojects in one computer at the same time.

Grutte Pier [WA OARS]~MAB is my nick @ Rosetta.

The second part of your reply confuses me. I ran Rosetta on my old system which crashed. Now I run WCG on my new system and haven't installed Rosetta again. Just while I'm running WCG now.

You havn't crunched anything for Rosetta in the last months, is you computer still attached to Rosetta?
Otherwise it cannot get the projects in line, they both must be present on the same computer at the same time, and both must contact the home server for this task.
What's so hard to understand in the FAQ:
Wat moet je doen om te zorgen dat je uiteindelijk één BOINCstats account krijgt:

* Gebruik precies hetzelfde email adres voor alle projecten.
* Zorg er voor dat je minstens één systeem hebt dat alle projecten draait, of een systeem dat projecten A en B draait en een systeem dat projecten B en C draait. Als er een project geïsoleerd van de andere projecten draait, dan zal de CPID nooit hetzelfde worden als de overige projecten.

While you posted your reply I editted mine.
I've searched in English, not changed the language, and didn't find the wright answer.
Didn't look for a Dutch one. ?????
Do I have to add Rosetta on one system since I'm using two systems @ home or on both.

Yes, you have to on one machine.
You don't have to crunch a WU, you can set it to "No New Work" immediately, but you need it to get the CPID in line on one of the machines.

And as this site is hosted in Nederland, and run by a nederlander, I would look for nederlands FAQ e.a. if I were you. You can even add a frys () version, if you like to translate it

Done it and favorized the link you gave.
Didn't know it was a Nederlander that hosts and runs the site.
Thanks for your help.

Probably "Grutte Pier [WA OARS]~MAB" (lower in the alphabet). Normally it's the user name you use on most projects, but you only have two.

I can only assume you mean a shortcoming of the program ? Or perhaps you agree with Saenger that he intention of the program is not to compare beyond one page ?
Or perhaps I misunderstand your whole reply.

This is (or better was) a thread about email change and credit/project losses. Not about comparing people. There is a separate thread for that. You hijacked this thread to promote your other thread. It's impolite and useless since I read most posts here.
