When I try to find my existing account at World Community Grid I get the message in the title.

It's probably because I have some ancient credit from a 2006 and current credit from a recent account.

Can the two be merged, if not can we just nuke the ancient account/credit? I am not all that concerned about the credit. I would like to be able to have BAM manage the WCG account. I also tried gridrepublic and it wasn't able to connect to the WCG account either. I also tried Extremadura, but I got stuck because I am not competent in Spanish.

Are your userID (dreweinhorn) and password the same at BAM! and WCG?

WCG doesn't distinguish users by email address, as every other BOINC project does, but by user name. However, I think even they don't provide merging of accounts.

i have the same problem but a slight difference in my log: "Checking for existing account at World Community Grid -> -161".

i have no idea what that number (161) stands for but maybe it can help someone with this problem.

okay, so my password is the same for bam and for wcg BUT my username is different because my bam-username isn't available in wcg anymore.
i thought bam is able to link other project with the cross-project-id's...

however. is there any possibility to get my wcg-account connected with bam?

If you want to use it with BAM, you have to use the same username.

WCG is a little bit different (understatement alert!) than the other projects.

In this case, the difference is that all projects use the email address + password to identify a user. WCG however uses the username + password.

If you want WCG to be included in your BAM! account, you'll have to change your BAM! username.

This does not affect your combined stats. If the email address used in WCG is the same as in the other projects, your stats should be fine.

OK, how do I change the BAM username w/o losing the remote machines already attached?

The username on WCG is "HeliOS Texas". On BAM it's just "HeliOS" due to "HeliOS not being available on WCG.

When you are logged in to the BAM site, click on "Main account page" in the "My BAM menu". From there, you can change your account information. These changes will also be made to the projects you have attached to BAM. You shouldn't loose any attached hosts, they will just update to the new account information.

I wanted to say the same, but when I checked, I saw that the Username line is the only one without an edit link at the end.
