Hallo,
some days ago I upgraded two computers. (CPU, resp. Graphiccard)
Since then the two PCs have multiple BAM-IDs.
One has two, the other three BAM-IDs.

What can I do to fix the problem?

regards
Veit

Hallo again,

the errormassage I get with the newer BAM-IDs is:

Host ID doesn't exist in BOINC combined or doesn't have any credit.

The computers with the older BAM-IDs have credits but they ended with the upgrade and the newer BAM-IDs does not have any credits.

What had went wrong??

How can I fix it?

BAM does not have a merge function, WHY???

regards
Veit

I sympathize with you Velt. I have the same problem of having a number of CPID's that do not synchronize. This bug or intended feature is one of the most discussed subject both here and on the BOINC Forum. There are litterally 100's of posts on the subject. There does not seem to be a solution to it. It is not the users fault that they need to change their password or email address. Under BAM this is not a good choice as you likely to end up with a number of accounts/CPID" under the same name, country and sometimes in the same team.

Hopefully it will be fixed one day for it is an annoying problem and one does not know if the credit totals are correct.

BAM! does not assign CPIDs. Without exception, not user CPIDs and not host CPIDs.

User CPID's are assigned by the projects, host CPIDs are assigned by the clients.
Please do not PM, IM or email me for support (they will go unread/ignored). Use the forum for support.

Sorry Willy, user vdvogt was talking about BAM ID's and I used the wrong terminology. In either case, the result is the same. It so happens that you end up with a number of BAM ID's with different CPID's because Retired Projects will not synhronize since they can not be contacted. As the user states, there does not appear to be a merge function even for accounts that are obviously held by the same user.

Willy, If this can not be fixed in BOINCStats could you help us please. If this anomaly is the function of BOINC Client than please use your position as a member of the BOINC Management Committee to address the issue as we can not do anything about it but the problem exists. They will not listen to me for I have not been getting replies on a number of other issues. Users have no voice.
