I have Boinc running on 4 or 5 machines but when I go to the Host List option on the sidebar it comes up empty. Is there some way to figure out why that isn't working and how I can view the hosts individually to compare numbers?

The host list in the sidebar is for the BAM! account manager function of the site, not for the stats. Since you don't appear to be a BAM! user (as you don't have any stats associated with your account) you can look up your username by using the search box under the "BOINCstats" logo. You can then look at your host stats through that page.
