Since using BAM I've had no trouble setting each computers prefrences indivulially like Iwnat them. But I have recemtly attached to AQUA@home. Since then I saw my pc's not doing the work as they should. I then realised it's AQUA messing around. The PC's use AQUA's prefrences. It even overides BAM. I went into the pref_settings file and saw it refered to AQUA and the settings was NOT BAM's. And yes, I did click clear and everything. I even deleted the file and it reverted back to AQUA. I deleted ALL of the files in the BOINC Program DATA folder, which caused me to have to reattach to everything and I got a second BAM Host ID for the PC. And STILL it went back to use AQUA. I have detached EVERY pc form AQUA and also detached BAM from AQUA. I cant think of anything else to do to get rid of AQUA for ever!! I now use manual settings until I get a solution or BOINC BAM! gets it fixed.

The BOINC manager always uses the last set of preferences that were created, no matter where they were created (BAM! or any project).

You can probably solve it by going to your BAM! preferences, edit them (no need for making changes) and save them. This will update the last update time and should make your manager use BAM!'s prefs again.
Please do not PM, IM or email me for support (they will go unread/ignored). Use the forum for support.

I tried EVERYTHING I can think of, done that lots of times. All I can think of is that somehow AQUA and BAM! is still communicating OR AQUA made a enrty somewere on the PC's to somehow get AQUA's settings and NOT BAM!.

To be a little bit more clear on the matter. When BOINC synchrosises with BAM I can open the prefs file and DO see it's using the boincstats.xxxxx.xx.xx, but just after that when BOINC finished with the sync, I go and open the same file, and guess what, AQUA is BACK AGAIN!!! I wnated to crakc!! I can't see how those STUPID settings can get back into the file.

I'm a beta tester for a few companies, So I can send you reports or whatever you need to show you what's happening.

That would be Sun, 9 May 2010 17:05:03 UTC. Did you change the global preferences at any project (besides AQUA) after that date?

Nope, I did not. I only used BAM. And I DID change the prefs in BAM TODAY, and before the weekend.

I had a simmilar issue with GR and World Community Grid, so I left WCG and GR and started using BAM, all went well until I attached to AQUA.

Did you click the "Sync preferences to project" link after changing preferences at BAM?
