For two days after subscribing to BAM, every time that in any computer I tried to attach the BOINC client to BAM running the wizard, after entering the URL (copy paste from Firefox address bar), http://boincstats.com/bam/account.php, got the message could not establish comm with server.
Reading again by the nth time several help, ..., I notice that in http://boincstats.com/bam/instruct_attach.php, in the screen it is written http://bam.boincstats.com/, that is bam appears first in the URL.
Try that URL and everything worked after that. Bug in redirecting?

There is no redirect for the BOINC manager. The only correct URL to attach to bam is bam.boincstats.com.

Registering and going to Main account page the URL reads http://boincstats.com/bam/account.php.
Nowhere (except in the screen of help) is written that the correct URL to attach to BAM is bam.boincstats.com
. As a matter of fact when in Firexox, my browser, I put that address and after one or two seconds the address bar shows http://boincstats.com/bam/ (and that does not work). Is that not redirecting?

There is indeed a redirect from bam.boincstats.com to boincstats.com/bam, but only for browsers. There is no redirect the other way/

The correct URL for attaching is clearly shown on the instructions page. I did not write the wiki article, but it does not cover instructions, it only describes BAM! and refers the the URL where the BAM! website is.

However I think that to avoid that people trying to adhere to BAM get lost or waste time in the screen shot n. 3 of the instructions, http://boincstats.com/bam/instruct_attach.php, the phrase " You can copy and paste the URL from your browser's address bar" should be substituted by :" Put the address indicated below", mainly because I did not see the correct address anywhere else.

That specific text is put there by the devs of BOINC. I'll relay this to them.
