I have been receiving the above response from an automatic, as well as a, manual "sync" since 4th April.

Is there a server problem?

Not from what I can see.
My machines sync regularly without any problems.

I have now detached BOINC Manager from BAM and attempted to re-attach. Still unable to reach BAM!

FYI: I am running BOINC on a Dell Latitude E6330 running openSuse Tumbleweed Linux.

I'm running different flavours or versions of Linux, MacOS and Windows myself.
Should not be about any of that, if you ask me.
But, while I was able to sync a machine to a differend BAM! Account using WAK, a teammate wasn't able to.
I don't see any reason for this different behaviour either.
