Currently https://boincstats.com/en/bam/hosts/ sorts by the increasing BAM! ID initially by default. Given that these IDs seem to change over time, this is pretty meaningless. In all other projects, if you go to YourAccount and ComputersOnThisAccount, the host list is sorted by LastContact/Decreasing so that the most recently contacted host is at the top. I think BAM should do that same. I always find myself going to that page, then clicking the LastContactedBAM column twice to get there. And then, going into one host and coming back resets it again to the BAMID order.

In addition to the initial sort order, it would also be awesome if the current sort state is encoded in the URL, so that if someone were to sort by HostName, go into a host, then back out to the previous page, it would still be sorted by HostName.

I like that idea too especially when I am trying to configure an Android client, so I know the first/last entry is the one that I want to modify. I like the last contact on top but I'd be happy either as the first or the last entry.

How about the option to give the user the choice of what to sort on by default, Willy?
