I've been suffering this for a while, but thought it may be tied up in other preference issues that were already being discussed.

Whenever my computer gets turned on (at work) it keeps getting set to 'default' because something (BAM?) reports no seperate preferences for 'work'.

25/05/2006 08:34:29|SETI@home|URL: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID: 2115105; location: work; project prefs: default
25/05/2006 08:34:29||General prefs: from http://bam.boincstats.com/ (last modified 2006-05-24 12:04:15)
25/05/2006 08:34:29||General prefs: no separate prefs for work; using your defaults

If I go into BAM, edit and save the existing properties (without change) then tell it to update (any project) it picks up the 'work' preferences and reverts to these... ...

25/05/2006 09:01:27||General prefs: using separate prefs for work

Can anyone explain what is going on?

Many Thanx in advance,

This is probably due to projects that don't fully support BAM yet. They mess up the prefs to the (old) standards, and these modified prefs are then distributed by the clients to all projects.

So, if I've got this correct, I can either manually correct this every day (as currently) or disconnect from BAM and just set the preferences manually in the projects?

Any idea on when the projects will be compatible? I'm currently running CPDN, Seti, Einstein & Predictor.

No need to disconnect from BAM for this. If you change some prefs at a projects site, they get pushed to all other projects as well. BAM can still be useful for other things.

I think the offending project is Einstein, but I'm not sure. If everybod with this problems posts his attached projects, we can extrapolate (wanted to use an expensive word) the project that's causing this.
