Hi,

I'm wondering if BOINC users, who are CPU time donators, also donate their computer's bandwidth to the public. It would be only logical and consequent, don't you think?

Personally I run a Tor[1] and an I2P[2] router. Unfortunately I don't have the bandwidth to add anything else (like Freenet[3] e.g.) to the mix.

I really hope to find out that most of you do something similar. If not it would be great if you looked into it. You obviously have the right mindset since you're running BOINC. Maybe a website like this one could encourage something like this to all BOINC users. After all we all want to make our computers more useful.

For all of you who haven't heard of the projects I mentioned, here are links to their websites:

[3]http://www.freenetproject.org/

Thanks for reading.

Technically, you're already using your network resources too (downloading input files for workunits, and uploading computation results back).

If you're looking for a real network-based BOINC project, look at DepSpid.
Not running BOINC anymore for several reasons...
