hi

i've got programming problem:
i want to write a program that is getting CPU speed on any platform, the more acurate the better, in order to creat something like checksum which include time and core speed. but how to get CPU speed? the program will work with wxwidgets on windows platform. it should work either with 64 and 32 bits and either intel and amd processors (there might be more than one function for it) and how to get name of processor? (i was trying to get core speed and name from regedit, but i failed with getting name, and core speed sometimes may be inacurate)

any thoughts (and source code)?
