@Frederique: Seems kind of off-hand. No back-up for Tolu? Makes you wonder how seriously they plan to use the results

click on Climate Prediction under Status schedulers right above this and it will take to the website where all the stats are correct, right at the source. It must be just the stat RSS feed or something that is down, so BOINCstats and other sites can't retrieve the stats

point is, it would be helpful if CPDN posted problems and expected resolution like seti does

Help. I have just installed 4.41 and tried to update. What does "5/17/2005 3:41:39 AM||schedule_cpus: must schedule" mean?
Guest

It seems to mean that you can't make any version after 4.25 send in results.

@pickpocket. So, what exactly did they post about not updating their stats for three days again THIS time ?

it's all going wrong again. I haven't been able to log on to seti@home Boinc for more than two weeks now, it keeps saying "master file fetch failed" whatever I do. Anyone with the same prob? And preferably: anyone with a solution ?

@Whiskey - 4.41 is a beta which, like several recent release, seems to be more like an alpha. Upgrade to 4.42 if you want the update bug to go away. But 4.42 still has problems with the new scheduler code. That's the risk if you test development code!

The suggestion is to avoid the beta versions till they stabilize and are released. If you're having the issue on a non-beta version, did you try resetting and/or detaching from the project, and then reattaching?

@Cynical - They did finally post in the forums, but only after about the 5th post. S@H seems to have given up on updates, mostly.

Good news for CPDN: the programmer is looking to it now (see: http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/forum_thread.php?id=2517)

I made my "master file fetch failed" error going away by configuring BOINC to use a proxy.

@Grenadier I had that same problem twice, I managed to fix it by 1. saving the boinc directory in another physical location on my sys, then deleting the project files, rebooting the machine and then reimporting my saved files into the boinc direcory and 2. the NON prefered way was to save my boinc directoy to another physical HD, reinstalling my machine, reinstalling the SAME vesion of boinc and then copying the saved files to the new bionc directory. Not many options I am afraid. At least from my experience with this issue.

Giving up on Seti. Maybe when they can be bothered to fix their stats I'll be back. Maybe I just won't make it back to that project at all. They really don't seem to care, so my cycles are going elsewhere.

@cynical: I doubt that they don't care - I think it's that their priorities are elsewhere. They run the stats on the replica server which is apparently struggling. They have chosen to prioritise keeping the upload/downloads and hence scientific research going above the statistics file generation. Personally I can't argue with that. Perhaps you should ask were you crunching units for S@H to conduct scientific research or to get credits?

Cynical>>> You're right SETI don't care - they only care the day that "The final front ear" or "BOINCSynergy" users are giving up on their project... mostly because they then don't have a group there to terrorise other users. So everyone, quit usin seti, it's not woth the effort, because the only care for you, as long as you doesn't need anything in return. Guess thats the nature of California and it's people, so why shouldn't it affect their behaviour in the leading of their projects. And why bother look for life, when only so little scanning of heaven is done?

Grow up! The stats will update eventually. Are you really in this just to watch your stats increase? Most people are in it to HELP the project in question. Maybe you need to question your own motives and behavior, not Berkeley's.

Well said Grenadier. The stats are fine. You can check your realtime stats by logging into your account @ http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu and watch 'em. If anything, the XML download files might be a bit late sometimes. BIG DEAL! It DOES get updated. You're stats do count. And life goes on.
