Happy New Year! I use more of your excellent stats services at present and noticed that many users in our team - SETI@boinc.dk - have the same country positions in their individual accounts.

To maverick on no US teams in top5: maybe Americans are too much individualists and prefer not to join team in general?

hey, can anyone tell me why some days boinc will churn out the workunits, then some days it goes slow? some days we will accumulate 1000 credits in 24 hrs, then other days it will take 2-3 days to do 1000.

Kristy, a lot depends on the specific projects and the way they validate the results that get back. And a top of that there is the availability of new work. SETI, for example, can take a week or two before it finally gives you -any- credit for a workunit done. Just keep crunching and let it upload, eventually you will be credited.

hmm, how come LHC is losing credit today

How come some 354kb seti projects are done in 3 - 5 minutes and the rest ave. 3 hours?

@ LazySod : If you have a "noisy" WU the results file fills up quickly and the processing of the WU is cut short. "Noisy"can mean that RFI is in the WU or that Seti has inserted the testsignal they occasionally insert to test the results.

I know that. But that still can mean it can take a week or two before the credits start rolling. According to lore the postfix to the packet number gives a good indication how long it will take before you get credited: the higher the number, the lower the time.

i mean the actual boinc program that processes the work units, some nights it will do 5 or 6 units, then it will only do 2 the next night
